'Y’all Going to See!' T-Wolves Anthony Edwards Guarantees Big Night vs. Mavs in WCF Game 3

Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards spoke to the media before Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals and guaranteed a big night against the Dallas Mavericks.

Anthony Edwards hasn't looked or sounded the same since Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals. Typically, the 22-year-old star isn't shy and makes bold statements due to his unmatched confidence. However, since the Dallas Mavericks defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first two games, Edwards hasn't made many big proclamations... until today.

During shootaround media availability, Edwards guaranteed more aggression in Game 3: "Y’all going to see tonight... It's going to be a lot of shots."

In the first two games of the WCF, Edwards shot the ball, but to no avail of the Timberwolves. Dallas turned Edwards into a jump-shooter, and that's not his natural game. Converting 11-33 shots, good for 33 percent, suffice to say, Edwards has left much to be desired for Minnesota fans.

However, making Edwards shoot more perimeter shots is by design. Jason Kidd has his unit playing elite defense, especially in the paint. The Mavericks are packing the interior, daring the Timberwolves to shoot, and the strategy is working so far.

Edwards talked a good game when he confidently stated, "I got Kyrie," before the WCF commenced. Despite being fatigued to the point of needing oxygen assistance in Game 2 and turning the ball over before Luka Doncic's game-winning 3-pointer, Edwards has again found his confidence amid the adversity.

Although Dallas has the upper hand momentarily, Edwards is not someone to take lightly, regardless of the shooting splits. A player of such sheer confidence, even in the face of a 0-2 hole, paints an image of a basketball badman. There is a storm brewing in Edwards's head, and the Mavericks have to weather it by continuing their efficient interior defense.
