Mavs WATCH: Luka Doncic Slovenia Highlights; Latest Injury Update

Luka Doncic scored 18 points in the first half of Slovenia's exhibition game against Greece before having his performance end early due to a knee injury.

Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic is currently participating with Slovenia in exhibition games ahead of the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup. He recorded a triple-double (24 points, 10 rebounds, and 14 assists) in his first exhibition performance against Greece, but his performance ended before halftime in their second matchup on Friday due to a knee injury

During Slovenia's second exhibition matchup against Greece, Doncic scored 18 points before knocking knees while playing defense. With it being just an exhibition game, naturally he did not return to compete in the second half.

Doncic's NBA teammate, Vlatko Cancar, also had his performance end early with what appeared to be a potentially more serious injury. With neither Doncic nor Cancar in the lineup to close the game, Slovenia went on to lose to Greece, 88-77.

Doncic's full highlights, along with the play that featured his injury, are included in the embedded YouTube video below. Subscribe to my channel for more content about Doncic and the Mavs throughout the FIBA World Cup and the 2023-24 NBA season.

The next opponent on Slovenia's preparation schedule is against Montenegro on Aug. 8 in Ljubljana — the final game held in the country before heading to Malaga, Spain, for matchups against Spain and Team USA. The final exhibition matchup will take place against Japan in Tokyo prior to play against Group F in Okinawa.

It was later reported by ESPN's Tim MacMahon that Doncic's knee injury faces "no concern" going forward. His exit from the game was considered precautionary.
