Mavericks Player’s Standout Performance Brings to Light Impressive Stat

Daniel Gafford’s season-high performance and a strong bench effort helped Dallas break a four-game skid with a commanding victory over the San Antonio Spurs.

The Dallas Mavericks ended their four-game losing streak in style, defeating the San Antonio Spurs 110-93 at American Airlines Center. After four consecutive one-possession losses, the Mavericks finally put together a complete team effort, led by Daniel Gafford’s standout performance off the bench.

The Mavericks’ bench played a pivotal role, contributing 54 points, 31 rebounds, 12 assists, five steals, and three blocks. Jayden Hardy chipped in 12 points, three rebounds, and one assist, adding depth to an already dynamic performance.

Gafford delivered a season-high 22 points on near-perfect shooting, going 9-for-10 from the field and a flawless 4-for-4 from the free-throw line. He added seven rebounds, one assist, and three blocks, marking his second consecutive game coming off the bench. Impressively, the Mavericks remain undefeated (4-0) all-time when Gafford scores 20 or more points.

The starting five also played efficiently, with Kyrie Irving making a strong return after missing the previous game due to a shoulder injury. Irving tallied 22 points, eight rebounds, six assists, and two steals. Luka Doncic added 16 points, six rebounds, and six assists, while Dereck Lively’s defensive effort stood out with four blocks.

The Mavericks’ ability to dominate on the boards (53 total rebounds) and capitalize on bench production proved the difference-maker against San Antonio. Looking ahead, Dallas faces a significant challenge, traveling to Paycom Center to take on the Western Conference-leading Oklahoma City Thunder (11-2).

The Mavericks, now 6-7, aim to build on their momentum against a formidable opponent. Head coach Jason Kidd will look for his bench to continue its improvement while searching for ways to get star guard Luka Doncic into a rhythm.
