Mavericks' Coach Jason Kidd Unleashes NSFW Comments After Loss To Suns

The Phoenix Suns just edged out the Dallas Mavericks on Friday, beating them 114-113. The Mavericks head coach was not impressed with one crucial factor.

The Dallas Mavericks could not come away victorious on Friday night, losing a nail-biting 114-113 game to the Phoenix Suns. A Luka Doncic heave from nearly halfcourt fell short on the final possession of the game.

The Mavericks had an uphill battle to climb after their slow start in this one. They trailed 36-26 after the first quarter. That eventually turned into a 63-50 lead at halftime.

The Mavericks woke up in the second half, but were burned by their first half performance all the same.

Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd could not hide his frustrations over the close loss. At the post-game press conference, he unleashed a barrage of NSFW comments regarding the loss, as originally reported by Noah Weber.

"For whatever reason, we get off to a slow start," Kidd told reporters. "It's gotta be addressed, we've talked about it, there's gotta be action. There's gotta be some energy, somebody's gotta come with some (expletive) energy. We're (expletive) flat, so that's where it starts."

Kidd added: "Again, the fatigue of running Luka and [Kyrie] 40 some minutes, because our bench stinks right now. ...As deep as we are, we gotta get someone to (expletive) participate off the bench. Somebody has to join the party to help [Kyrie] and Luka, and that's just not happening right now. ...Played the whole (expletive) team tonight, and we couldn't find anybody."

Dončić and Kyrie Irving both had strong performances on Friday. The duo combined for 59 points, 14 rebounds, 13 assists, and 4 steals. However, Kidd is right in stating that the bench production was not there for Dallas.

The Mavericks bench only posted 9 points as a unit. The tight loss dropped the Mavericks to 5-4 on the young season.
